President — Information, Inc.
“We offer associations customized content that can be branded and delivered to members as a continuous reminder of the value they receive for their membership dues.”
Alain Carr serves as President of Information, Inc., bringing more than 35 years of business and publishing experience to the company. Information, Inc., which was acquired in September 2011 as a wholly owned subsidiary of SmithBucklin, specializes in creating highly targeted content for associations, helping to reinforce the value of membership by delivering a professional grade electronic news service to the desktops of members. Information, Inc. serves more than 100 associations and provides content covering a diverse range of subjects, including banking, insurance, manufacturing, healthcare, pharmaceutical, entertainment, real estate, technology, security, education, training, energy, engineering, human resources, public affairs and transportation. In the aggregate, Information, Inc.’s content services reach an audience of more than one million readers each month.
Alain started his career as a business analyst for CPC International, now Unilever Consumer Services, where he monitored and evaluated domestic and international subsidiaries for senior management. He subsequently created Venture Sciences, a consultancy providing management advice to owners of small businesses. Alain then pursued an opportunity to transform a distressed publishing company, which he sold several years later. After a brief, early retirement, Alain founded Information, Inc. in 1980, with the mission of offering superior, customized content to associations.
Alain’s education includes Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, N.Y., where he majored in industrial design, and Columbia Graduate School of Business in N.Y., with a concentration in international business.
