Headquarters Infrastructure

SmithBucklin full-service client organizations benefit from access to all aspects of a world-class headquarters infrastructure, including facilities, human resources, technology and financial management. By leveraging these capabilities, client organizations avoid risks inherent with unforeseen human resources challenges involving staff losses or inadequate staff resources, as well as financial risks involved with purchasing capital equipment and entering into long-term or onerous contracts with vendors. For further peace of mind, client organizations are assured complete reliability, security and back-up protection for all elements of their operations and infrastructure.

SmithBucklin's headquarters offices are located in downtown Chicago and Washington, D.C. These areas attract highly educated, upwardly mobile and energetic workforces, providing a significant recruiting advantage to our client organizations. In addition, these cities are home to more trade associations than any other communities in the world, thus providing our clients additional recruiting and location benefits.

Associations benefit from aesthetically pleasing, highly functional environments. Professional offices and staff-support areas are specifically designed to meet the needs of associations, and include comfortable offices and furnishings, full-service mail rooms and friendly, responsive receptionists. Board rooms, as well as numerous meeting rooms, are also available for client organization use, including SmithBucklin’s Client Conference Center in Chicago. This state-of-the-art meeting facility was designed for and is used exclusively by volunteer leaders of SmithBucklin client organizations.

Office equipment such as copiers, fax machines and printers are strategically located throughout the space. Telephone/fax service, Internet access and e-mail are provided according to client organization needs. Facilities also include technology infrastructure including servers, networks and the latest software. SmithBucklin also provides off-site storage opportunities.

By leveraging our full-service human resources capabilities, client organizations mitigate legal risks related to firing, hiring, regulatory requirements, HR policy adherence, documentation and filing/reporting requirements. Client volunteer leaders are also relieved of personnel-related burdens related to recruiting, firing, payroll, benefits, training and all other HR-related activities since they are the responsibility of SmithBucklin and completely transparent to client organizations.

We understand how important it is for an association to preserve its identity and autonomy and are very respectful of those needs. Throughout all of our work, we ensure that each and every client organization's identity—as defined by its customs, beliefs and values—is protected, nurtured and preserved.

On a tactical level, each SmithBucklin client organization is provided with its own telephone number and e-mail address. Each client is also listed separately in the telephone and building directory under its own name, and all communications bear its own name and identity.
