SmithBucklin provides transition services for client organizations that have chosen to work with us as their new management partner. Once SmithBucklin and an association decide to work together, we assemble a transition services team to quickly and efficiently learn the organization’s culture and mission. SmithBucklin's goal is a seamless transfer of operations and knowledge to help volunteer leaders move the organization forward in new and significant ways.
SmithBucklin’s experience with a wide range of organizations has allowed us to establish detailed and proven transition processes that are executed by specialists. Our turnkey approach allows the transition to be an exciting time for volunteer leaders, during which they become renewed and reinvested in the future of their organization.
SmithBucklin's first step in the process is to dedicate a transition director and team members with extensive, relevant experience. The director is the central connection to the board, the SmithBucklin transition team, and existing management. The transition director has overall responsibility and accountability for the process to ensure a professional, courteous and successful transition.
SmithBucklin's main focus during the transition is on the organization's people, as well as its database, historical records, intellectual property, fixed assets and third-party relationships. We partner with volunteer leaders and current staff to transfer the knowledge, history and culture of the organization with minimum disruption. And, we use all of our resources to manage change successfully, involving all stakeholders.
The goal of this process is to allow the board to continue to focus on relationships and organization business while SmithBucklin's team executes the transition. Through extensive documentation and consistent communication, the SmithBucklin team keeps volunteer leaders informed of progress until all tasks are complete through the time when the client organization officially "opens its doors" at its new headquarters.
