CHICAGO — Dec. 18, 2014 — The National Demolition Association (NDA) has selected SmithBucklin, the association management and services company more organizations turn to than any other, to provide full-service association management. Cheryl Caulfield will serve as NDA’s executive director. NDA’s headquarters will be located in Washington, D.C.
Founded in 1972, NDA is the voice of the demolition industry, representing more than 800 companies engaged in a wide range of demolition activities including conventional demolition, dismantlement, implosion, construction and demolition debris recycling, and hazardous material handling and landfilling. NDA provides members with education, advocacy and information on the latest technical advances in equipment and services, while also increasing public awareness of the economic and societal benefits of the $4.2 billion demolition industry.
Cheryl Caulfield, an experienced SmithBucklin association leader in the Business + Trade Industry Practice, has been selected to serve as the executive director of the association. She will work with the NDA board to develop a strong strategic vision for the organization.
“SmithBucklin will help NDA achieve its mission as we continue to evolve and grow. We are committed to increasing membership, enhancing our products and services and increasing our profile in the demolition community,” said NDA President Jeff Kroeker. “SmithBucklin will provide us access to staff members who are familiar and comfortable with our industry and who have developed and implemented successful strategies for other not-for-profit organizations.”
“It is an honor to serve NDA and build on its continued success,” said Matt Sanderson, executive vice president and chief executive, Business + Trade Industry Practice. “We look forward to working with NDA’s leadership to achieve its goals for the organization and its membership.”
In her role as executive director, Caulfield will lead all aspects of the association’s strategy and operations. “I am excited to be part of this organization and help provide NDA’s members with the tools necessary to be leaders in environmental stewardship, safety, education, professional competency and government advocacy,” Caulfield said.
Caulfield has over 20 years of association experience, including a mix of advocacy, member education, membership development, financial management and meetings management. She spent several years working for building and real estate associations, including the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), where she served as senior vice president for government affairs and vice president for the NAHB Builder 20 Clubs.
